This untidy metal gate on The Cumbria Way long distance path at Holme Head serves no useful purpose as it can easily be navigated around by using the Caldew Cycleway nearby. Immediately beyond the gate The Cumbria Way crosses an almost completely filled in footbridge before turning right onto the Caldew Cycleway (next photograph Image).
