Caerleon-on-Usk is a pleasant small town which played a remarkably large part in the early history of Britain, if Geoffrey of Monmouth is to be believed. Certainly it contains many ancient structures of a variety of eras. Opposite a castellated wall is Ffwrwm Arts https://www.ffwrwm.com/ , which takes its name from the Welsh for 'bench' (deriving it from the Latin 'forum') and stands on the site of the main gates to the Roman fort. Ffwrwm contains a cafe, gallery, shops and a sculpture garden including the world's largest love-spoon.
