The platform at Compton Halt is still here. Looking north-east towards Wolverhampton, the South Staffordshire Railway Walk runs along a former railway trackbed which was part of the Wombourne Branch Line from Wolverhampton to Stourbridge. The Great Western Railway Company built it between 1912 and 1925, but it carried passengers for only seven years from 1925 to 1932. Freight transport ceased in 1965.
