Carved stone post by the A49, in parish of LEYLAND (SOUTH RIBBLE District), Leyland Golf Club, opposite Avant Garden centre, between path and hedge, on East side of road. Preston wedge, erected by the Wigan & Preston (north of Yarrow) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO WIGAN / 11 / MILES : : TO / PRESTON / 6 MILES : Carved benchmark on lower front edge. Milestone Society National ID: LA_WGPS11.
