The Paper Mill, a former Marston's house, is one of two pubs in Whitehough both of which have the same owners. This one was formerly called the Oddfellows Arms apparently because it was used by the Oddfellows Friendly Society for meetings. It has now reverted to its even older name which derives from a paper mill once situated on the nearby Black Brook (the mill later became a bleach and dye works and there is now a very industrial looking thermoplastics works roughly on the same site).
