A tremendous sequence of former cotton mills most of which were once part of James McConnel and John Kennedy's empire, which became the largest in Manchester. Royal Mill was built in 1911-13 and Sedgwick Mill (by William Fairbairn) was begun in 1818. In the empire of their rivals, Adam and George Murray, was Decker Mill (with its chimney), built in 1801-02. Grade II*/II listed. All, or mostly, now flats. Pre-restoration Image
