Llanwenarth Baptist Church is set back from the south side of Station Road. CADW records that this is the oldest Baptist church in Wales - the Baptist Fellowship here was founded in 1652. The building seen here is the result of several remodellings. Its origin was a chapel in 1695. In the 18th century it was doubled in size and was then remodelled again, principally in 1869-1870. There was further renovation in 1893 and major recent restoration. Grade II (star) Listed for its historical importance and the surviving elements of its 18th century interior.
