Totnes - Guildhall and Guildhall Cottage

The building on the right of this image is the Guildhall which was built originally c.1553 and reconstructed in 1624. It was extensively altered in 1829. It is on the site of the Benedictine Priory of St Mary founded by Judhael in 1086 and is EH Grade I listed: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1235949?section=official-list-entry The building straight ahead is Guildhall Cottage. Like the Guildhall this was reconstructed in 1624 but was substantially altered at the end of the C19th.
