Although grubby, the double arrow logo is still officially correct here on a pole outside Littlehampton station, now representing the National Rail brand. The logo has had a remarkable longevity by modern standards - it was first used by British Rail in the 1960s as part of a major rebranding exercise. Underneath it, however, is a Red Star logo and it is strange that this has never been removed or concealed in the 22 years since the Red Star parcels service was withdrawn from railway stations. Yet the Network SouthEast stripes below the Littlehampton name have been covered up. The whole thing looks an untidy mess that does nothing for the image of rail travel.
