Stromness - The Stromness Hotel

This fine building in the heart of Stromness is the hotel which takes the town's name. It dates from 1901 and is by the architect Samuel Baikie. It has (to quote the HES listing) "pepperpot bartizans and crowstepped gablets" - and is listed Grade B https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB45425 The "pepperpot bartizans" can be seen rising from the corners, and the "crowstepped gablets" are the triangular features above the upper windows.
