There are around 70 lock-ups here in total and another dozen or so in another row to the left. It would be interesting to see what lurks inside them all as - since the days of drying off spark plugs in the evenings in front of an open fire are long gone - it is unlikely any of Longstone Gardens' current residents bother squeezing their cars into these tiny boxes anymore. Though they do still get used for motorbikes occasionally in my experience. They were probably built in such number alongside the original houses as the street is essentially a series of terraces with paved walkways in between.
