Castle Hill, Bardsey

The remains of a motte-and-bailey castle on a hill overlooking the village. The remaining motte is c.100m long by c.30m wide and up to 2m high. It was excavated in 1930 to reveal the foundations of a square stone keep. Scheduled monument ref. 1012774. There is currently no public access to the site, this view from a public footpath on the southern edge being the nearest approach.
