Taken from the 17th Floor of Brent Court the photo overlooks Stevenage Old Town looking Northwest. Stevenage Old Town was around much longer before Stevenage New Town and comes under Part 4 of Bedwell, in the late 1940s/early 1950s the Old Town residents went against the construction of the New Town as of the loss of farmland and countryside. In the photo above you can also see St George’s Field where every June Stevenage Day is celebrated where all the Stevenage community comes together to celebrate the town’s history which has been happening for decades and centuries. The white building at the bottom of the photo is Stevenage Swimming Pool which was built in the early 1970s, the Swimming Pool is due for demolition to make way for new leisure facilities.
