The station was rebuilt by British Rail in 1987. This included demolition of the original C19 frontage in Drayton Green Road in favour of this rather uninspiring but functional replacement. The latter has been disused since 2021 when it was itself replaced with a much grander building in Manor Road in readiness for the start of the full Elizabeth Line service in 2022.
