A war memorial stands in Falkland Square, in the centre of Poole. Falkland Square is named to commemorate armed forces personnel from Poole who served in the Falkland Islands conflict in 1982. The memorial, which was unveiled five days before this photo was taken, replaced an earlier memorial. It is made from stone from the Falkland Islands.
