This post box, which dates from the reign of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022), stands close to the local ice cream shop and adjacent to a narrow path down to the beach. This is a self-contained box, smaller than a pillar box, and designed to be mounted above ground level. Usually attached to a pole, slim pedestal, lamp post, or telegraph pole, but can be mounted on (or very rarely within) a wall.
