One of the 615 original milestones set up by the family firm of Gill & Frank Stead of Mirfield stonemasons, all over the old West Riding. Over half still survive by the roadside. This one on the A618, just north of the traffic lights cross-roads with the A631 is outside No. 229 Moorgate. Many of the metal attachments were cast at the Brayshaw & Booth foundry in Liversedge. This can just be seen on the bevel.
