Cheshire Constabulary - Crewe West Neighbourhood

Residents voice respondents have informed us that speeding was a serious issue on a number of roads, namely Frank Webb, West Street and Badger Avenue.

In response to this matter, PCSO’s have been to each of the above roads on a number of occasions utilising TRUCAM. Drivers who were caught travelling over the speed limit were issues with points and or fines.

Crewe Beat Team held there annual PC Panda Claws and Santa Paws Safety Trail at Queens Park in the run up to Christmas. This was a well attended event where personal safety messages were shared with young people. Dispersal orders have been put in place where appropriate to curb anti social behavior in and around the Flag Lane Baths. Pro active drug and shoplifting operations have been conducted resulting in shoplifting offenders being charged and offenders being stop searched. Hi visibility patrols continue to take place in problem areas to tackle speeding and parking issues.

Officers have been on hi-visibility patrol across the hotspots identified primarily around Flag Lane and Valley park to deter ASB. Additional partnership working has taken place to engage the YMCA outreach team to give young people somewhere to go. There have been several Fixed Penalty Notices served for illegal parking across the ward. Officers have conducted plain clothes operations around hotspots for drug dealing to identify offenders.
Lastly surgeries have been ran where bike marking and bike safety has been addressed with a number of cyclists provided with lights so they are visible on the roads.

Residents reported suspicious activity around a residential property with people frequenting the address and the loud noise of fans heard late into the night.

Due to the reports local beat officers were able to develop the intelligence and secure a S8 PACE Drugs Warrant to enter the premises. Upon entering a cannabis farm was located and a suspect arrested. The cannabis was seized and growing equipment destroyed. The suspect will be referred to the Crown Prosecution Service for a decision.
