The 13th of May will be Women's Day on the Talyllyn Railway, when the line will be operated entirely by women. In preparation in the preceding days, several key posts are being filled by women. Here, the station master at Tywyn Wharf station is ready to receive the single line token from the crew of the incoming empty stock working from Pendre depot. The locomotive (Corris No.3 - Sir Haydn) is carrying a headboard in recognition of the Coronation held on the previous Saturday.
