This is the pond at Hackensall Hall, Knott End-on-Sea, Lancashire. It is a stopping place for herons who nest here (though no evidence could be seen on this day) and greylag geese (one can be glimpsed on the water to the left of shot). The pond also provides a home to moorhens and mallards.
