A 'full frontal' view of the tollhouse at Skelton on the old bit of road on the west side of the A19 by the Garden Centre and near the minor crossroads into Skelton village. The York/Thirsk/Northallerton toll road was first enacted in 1753 so this cottage may date from the late 18th century.
