Introduction
The photograph on this page of Christian symbols in St Mary's east window by Stephen Craven as part of the Geograph project.
The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

The middle section of the window contains ten symbols of God. Clockwise from top left: IHS (the name of Jesus), Lamb of God, I Am, the Holy Spirit, Alpha and Omega, A stag (maybe referencing Psalm 42, thirsting for God), the Instruments of the Passion, the Chalice or Holy Grail, the Crown of Thorns, and a pelican (symbol of piety). One source says that much of the glass in the church is by William Wales, but I don't know whether that includes this window. See Image for the whole window.
