Grade I listed building. The Hospital of St Nicholas, Harbledown, was founded in about 1084 for lepers and in about 1400 the places were filled by the poor aged and sick. Harbledown was the last step of pilgrims on their way to Canterbury. At the Reformation it was converted into almshouses and was rebuilt in 1685 and again in 1840.
