Bushy Cross Lane narrows here as it passes Coronation Close and a speed monitor has been installed to warn inattentive motorists. Elan City is part of the French company Elan Cité and produces lots of speed and traffic systems. This is their EVOLIS Solution Speed Indicator Device (SID), mounted on a post and monitoring the traffic levels. It has a variable threshold and information display, programmable by an operator, and can transmit data from the site. Given decent daylight it will use the solar panels or a standard electricity supply, but has a battery back-up for extra security.
