The photo was taken on a Diocesan visit after closure, so the inscription deserves to be recorded, especially as the window is attributed (possibly) to the noted artist Ninian Comper. Left: 'To the beloved memory of Grace, daughter of Henry and Helena Wilmot this window is placed by members of her family. At rest 27 July 1935' [the year is not entirely clear]. Centre: 'To the beloved and honoured memory of Henry Wilmot, a benefactor of this church, this window is placed by parishioners and friends in Bedale and Leeming Bar. At rest 6 September 1929'. Right: A tribute to the memory of Henry Wilmot PM BBGW from the Worshipful Master and Brethren of the Beresford Peirse Masonic Lodge 2610'. The use of explicit Masonic symbols and wording can be controversial in some Christian churches, but clearly not here.
