The granite seat is a memorial to the local men who died when the Solway Harvester sank off the south east coast of the Isle of Man on 11 January 2000. They were: Skipper Craig Mills, 29 His brother Robin Mills, 33 David Mills, 18, cousin of the skipper Martin Milligan David Lyons, 17 John Murphy, 22 Wesley Jolly, 17
