Piebald and Skewbald

In a pasture beside Stone Lane. The term piebald is used to describe animals, especially horses, with a spotting pattern of large white and black patches (the grazing horse seen at left is a piebald). Similarly patterned horses with patches of any other colour besides black (i.e. chestnut, brown, tan) are called skewbald.
