King Street in Leeds city centre is usually one-way northbound. For several months starting in January 2023, it was temporarily changed to two-way, in order to accommodate traffic (mostly buses) diverted from City Square while the latter was being remodelled. The temporary works involved the road being resurfaced with new lane markings and road signs. These 'two way street' signs were unusually placed on the pavement at frequent intervals to warn pedestrians to look both ways.
