A prime retail spot on the junction of the Cheltenham Road and Ashley Road. The shops were built around 1890 and it is said that bones were exhumed during construction - possibly the remains of criminals hanged there in the past. A shop was occupied by one F. Coldstream Tuckett, who ran a grocer's shop until around 1920; following division of the buildings, the shops have had various proprietors since.
