It is the ship's timber framing and other features such as wood panelling and ceiling plasterwork that earn this pub a place in CAMRA's regional inventory of historic pubs. Note also the selection of model ships behind the bar. It was built in 1925-26 by Jackson & Fox for Webster's brewery of Halifax, with carpentry by H P Jackson. It was refurbished in 2009.
