Bridge Marker on the south side of the A420 Botley Road, Oxford. Bolted to the parapet of Osney Bridge, River Thames or Isis, with panels on the inner and outer sides of the parapet. OX_OX27abr is fixed to the opposite parapet, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7315502. The coat of arms represents the Oxford Local Board of Health, who paid for the bridge to be rebuilt in 1888 to 1889. The Board included representatives of the university, corporation and ratepayers and the shield displays the coats of arms of the university, on the left, and the city, on the right.
