Unveiled in 2001, this sculpted column by Ed Williams depicts political and social events in this area over the years. The base of the column has imagery of Celtic mythology in the Dark Ages to Christian times and Valle Crucis Abbey. Further up the column there is the influence of the Industrial Revolution - coal mines, iron foundries and Pontcysyllte aqueduct. At the top of the column are representations of present day life.
