The Friends group for this site have laid out various memorials and displays in this area. This particular one shows the construction of an underground roadway and the way coal tubs could be manoeuvred on rail lines with points and turntables. One of the volunteers was giving an excellent explanation. The tour for Heritage Open Days was excellent and went on for over two hours. In fact we had to miss out the Heritage Centre in order to catch our last site of the day at Etruria Industrial Museum.
