The plinth that originally supported the town's 15th century Mercat Cross. It was replaced in 1965 by a smaller version to ease traffic flow at the junction of Eastgate and Northgate. It was rediscovered in a council depot in 2021 and brought here by Bonnie Peebles Plus to preserve a piece of the town's history. (From the nearby information board).
