The Watch Tower is situated in the grounds of the Quorndon Fox Public House. The premises was situated on the main London to Manchester stagecoach route. During the 18th and early 19th century it was a coaching inn named the ‘Swan with Two Necks’. It is said that the watch tower was used to warn the cook and stable staff of approaching coaches that required quick turn rounds. The tower can be viewed from the Public Right of Way that runs past the site.
