Grade II Listed, it is probably based on a late 18th century building. Solicitor, Abraham Howell acquired a house here in 1853 and carried out a significant remodelling, that included re-fronting, rise in height, and re-ordering internally in 1863. It is said to be the first purpose-designed office building in the county. Currently (2022) the offices of Gilbert Davies & Partners Limited, the company being incorporated in April 2007.
