Opened in 1837 by the Grand Junction Railway, later part of the London & North Western Railway, on the line from Birmingham via Bescot to Stafford. This makes it one of the oldest continuously operated station sites in the world. View south east towards Witton and Birmingham. The station building was new in 2022, giving lift access to platform level - the former ramps were closed at that time. See Image for an earlier view from a similar camera position.
