This 'listed' milestone was stolen in 2008. It was seen on ebay and recovered. A crack on the bevel was repaired by York City Council. A Milestone Society member repainted the post and in January 2009 set it back at its original site. The left face has the legend MALTON/13/MILES. This was cast by Mattison & Co. of Bedale and has the hands pointing in the correct direction.
