Originally built in the late 1820s as the Royal Salop Infirmary, as a replacement for a hospital that was established in the 1740s. It was converted to shops, flats and cafes etc in the 1980s; Image sums up the history of the site very neatly, and the whole building was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254655-the-parade-shopping-centre-shrewsbury#.YuVPKHbMLIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254655 in 1969.
