Ordnance Survey 1GL bolt benchmark which have been repositioned since it was levelled at 388.171 feet above Liverpool Datum during the 1841-1844 Liverpool to Port Carlisle 1GL Survey. The surveyor's description was 'No. 386. Bolt in South-east pier of Eamont Bridge ; 14.14 ft. below top of battlement'. The mark is on the SE face of a bridge pier, but not the SE pier.
