Former Tops Warehouse, Albert Mills, The Locks, Bingley

Bingley Mills was the name of the textile firm which occupied Albert Mills. This warehouse was built in the last half of the 19th century, prior to 1892. Converted into up-market apartments the rest of Albert Mills, including the chimney was demolished in 1996. Harry Speight's 1898 book on the area says "a number of other important factories have been erected in more recent times; notably the .... Albert Mills of Messrs. M. Platts & Co." Bingley Mills Ltd. was incorporated on 16th March 1933 and the last accounts submitted were for the period ending 31 March 1996.
