Seen in 2005, when I worked here. The buildings along Wellington Road were all built after 1850 on land released by the LNWR after the railway opened. They were all originally finished linen goods warehouses and sales points for the booming textile trade. Later in the century the mills developed larger warehouses and these buildings then housed rags and shoody for the furniture and mattress trade. A blue plaque (2022) now adorns No 9 recording this history.
