Detail of an Ordnance Survey cut benchmark on the end of a dressed sandstone wall on the south west side of Castle Street. The benchmark marks a height of 24.3331m above Ordnance Datum Newlyn last levelled and verified in 1972 (location photograph Image). The benchmark is adjacent to The Cumbria Way long distance path.
