The Grade II listed Mills Building, dated 1906, was originally a lace warehouse and factory, designed by the Nottingham architect G S Doughty for Philo L Mills. It is now in residential use. This archway, with fine Art Nouveau iron gates, was originally a cart entrance. The gates' design echoes that of the gates and railings of A E Lambert's Midland Station (1904) - see, among others, Image], Image] and Image Image] shows these gates in a wider context.
