Introduction

The photograph on this page of MGS - school crest by Stephen Craven as part of the Geograph project.

The crest over the entrance to the main quadrangle includes three owls, symbol of its founder, Hugh Oldham (it is believed his name was pronounced owl-dom in local dialect) as well as traditionally a symbol of wisdom.
