There are several railway bridges in this area, as the narrow valley bottom forces the railway, main road and side roads to compete for space. This one is particularly low (but has no height marker) perhaps constrained by the need to maintain a constant 1:65 gradient on the railway climbing up from Todmorden to Copy Pit Summit.
