Opposite the present Temple Meads station is an open area in a major redevelopment of the old site. Before the landscaping and tall office blocks, this was where the steam trains would line up and offload their goods. A massive covered shed stood here, but before the trains there was a goods shed serviced by a small dock that spurred off the nearby Floating Harbour.
