The Avon is crossed by a railway bridge and the recent Brock's Bridge, but an even newer bridge has been built between them. Plans for the redundant shunting yards are still being discussed (and often forgotten) but the desire to do something useful is strong. Hence the modern, angular, footbridge is the second connection to the site. Pity it does not allow access to anywhere after that. Maybe it will one day.
