The library, one of many funded by Andrew Carnegie, was built in 1905 and listed grade II (list entry 1272893). The front faces Drury Lane Image, and this is part of the rear elevation (the flat roofed building to the right being a later extension). The building is now used as an arts centre. Comparing Image taken in 2008 shows how the road layout has changed: Mulberry Way, named after the symbol of the city's prison, has been constructed as part of the city's main one-way system, passing Westgate station nearby.
