Looking north-north-west towards Shelton New Road Bridge (No 115) and Twyford Lock (No 38) on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Twyford Lock is the third lock up in the Stoke flight of five, which together raise the water level by fifty feet (15·25m). Note the infestation of Japanese Knotweed on the right, which the authorities ignored for several years.
